Tuning and/or Pitchraise

Every piano goes out of tune. After awhile, the strings lose tention, the wood expands or contracts, tuning pins give away, etc.
There are many reasons why pianos go out of tune. But they all do. So having a routine tuning will always make sure your piano stays in tune, sounding it's best.
The normal tuning standard is A440. That means the A key in the middle of the piano, usually called A4, is tuned at 440 Mhz (440 vibrations per second). And then each string is tuned realtive to that key. It's a very complex system of measuring, listening, and stabalizing each string.
If your piano has not been tuned for awhile, it will need a pitch correction, or pitchraise. This is where each of the strings is brought up or down to the tention of A440 before a stable tuning can be maintained. The longer a piano sits out of tune, the more it will need a pitchraise.

Regulation,
General Maintainence, and
Touch Weight Control

Regulation refers to the alignment, feel, and effeciency of the keys (piano action). After years of use, the piano action will lose it's regulation, and it will feel odd to play, i.e. too heavy, doesn't repeat well, sticking keys.
Giving your piano a routine maintainence check-up will ensure each of the levers, wood parts, hammers, keys and leather are all working properly.
Touch Weight Control refers the feel of the action under your fingers, and making it constistant across the whole keyboard. Whether you like your piano light and quick, or heavy and strong! It can all by designed around your personal preference, depending on the quality of your piano.

Player systems
With todays technology, it is very possible to add a digital player system to most accoustic pianos. Player systems that play floppy disks, CDs, MP3s, computers... just about anything you can think of. With full fuctioning background music to accompany the piano, the piano can come alive with so many different kinds of music. Jazz, Pop, Classical, Blues, New Age, etc.
As a Cerified PianoDisc Technician, I am able to install and service all of the products PianoDisc has to offer.

Appraisals and Estimates
If you are looking to sell your piano, or purchacing a new one, I will be able to give you a fair-market value, or an over-all idea of how much the piano is worth
With todays world of internet selling like ebay or craigslist, there are a lot of pianos out there that LOOK fine, but inside could need alot of work. Be skeptical on buying a piano from these sites. I can help you give you a better idea if it's worth the investment.

Humidity Control
The most dangerous element to the piano is humidity. Consistantly changing the humidity around the piano can cause very serious damage to the wood fibers that make up 90% of the piano. Excessive conditions will cause cracks in the soundboard or tuning pinblock, tuning instablity, bad glue joints, and much more.
Special systems can be installed on your piano to control the humidity directly around the piano. Dampp-Chaser offers many different products to help you maintain those proper condition.
